Overview

The work will entail:
This position will entail working with NIST staff on the Diffraction Metrology and Standards Program,
which aims to develop world-leading instrumentation for X-ray diffraction and produce a suite of
Standard Reference Materials for end users to calibrate their equipment and measurements with.

Powder Diffraction SRM Development

Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Physics or similar field
- Expertise with LabView and Python
- Strong track record of building and troubleshooting custom lab equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Specialized experience with x-ray sources, optics, and detectors a plus (but not required)

Research Proposal

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance, operation, and upgrades of NIST XRD equipment
- Assistance with measurements and analysis related to certification of SRMs
