The Senior Researcher for Applied AI in Cybersecurity is a senior technical expert responsible for the
design, development, and deployment of trustworthy AI systems to secure industrial critical
infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research projects and manage
the transition of these tools into operational industrial environments.

Senior Researcher for Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Cybersecurity

Qualifications
  • Experience in leading research and measurement science in artificial intelligence to solve key
    challenges in high-priority critical and emerging technology areas, such as cybersecurity for
    critical infrastructure.
  • Experience in executing guidelines, pilot implementations, and standards for key artificial
    intelligence topics.
  • Experience in transitioning key research to the U.S. industry to enable high-impact results.
  • Knowledge of the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF)
Research Proposal

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead the development and deployment of applied AI initiatives,
    specifically focusing on the technical integration of AI within cybersecurity for critical
    infrastructure and manufacturing.
  • Technical Analysis & Research: Execute complex technical analyses to build "trustworthy AI"
    frameworks, ensuring that AI deployments in cybersecurity are robust, explainable, and secure
    against adversarial attacks.
  • Technical Coordination: Coordinate technical AI inputs across NIST and integrate emerging AI
    technologies into operational processes to enhance cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Technology Transition: Manage the transition of co-developed laboratory research into
    scalable, functional solutions for U.S. industry partners and critical infrastructure stakeholders.
